About the position
The Part-Time Medical Assistant Instructor at American Career College is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the medical assistant program. This role involves guiding students through their educational journey, ensuring they achieve academic goals and are prepared for entry-level positions in healthcare. The instructor will participate in various college activities and maintain current knowledge in their teaching field.
Responsibilities
- Deliver class instruction according to an approved curriculum using effective teaching methods.
- Develop daily lesson plans and maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
- Advise, remediate, and tutor students as needed.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional growth activities.
- Engage in college activities such as graduation exercises and new student orientations.
- Strive for student success by providing quality instruction.
Requirements
- Three years of occupational experience in the subject field.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited program in the specialty field.
- Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Current CPR Card.
Nice-to-haves
- One year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught.
