About the position

The Part-Time Medical Assistant at Florida Community Health Partners, LLC is responsible for providing high-quality healthcare services in a supportive and professional environment. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting physicians, and managing various administrative tasks to ensure efficient healthcare delivery. The position operates on a part-time schedule from Monday to Wednesday, focusing on patient care and administrative support in a hybrid healthcare model.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and record their medical history.
  • Measure patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations.
  • Administer injections or medications as directed by physicians and permitted by state law.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Collect and prepare samples of blood and other specimens for laboratory tests.
  • Enter patient information, including vital signs and test results, into medical records.
  • Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.
  • Handle calls or concerns from patients and their families, transferring them to other providers as needed.
  • Report incidents or employee relations concerns to the site manager.
  • Perform any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Windows Office Systems, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, administration, and staff.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse individuals.
  • BLS Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Pre-Authorization process.
  • Primary Care knowledge.
  • Infectious Disease knowledge (HIV/STI/HEP-C).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems.
  • Highly organized with strategic thinking abilities.
