About the position

The Merchandising Service Associate - Plant Service at Lowe's is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while executing merchandising tasks related to plant displays and maintenance. This role involves collaborating with the Merchandising Service team, engaging with customers to assist them with their needs, and ensuring that the store's plant displays are well-maintained and visually appealing. The associate will also be accountable for maintaining a clean and safe store environment, adhering to safety standards, and completing assigned service tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs.
  • Engages with customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers and communicates information regarding stock, special orders, and warranty information.
  • Merchandises to plantogram, price, color block, and places plants as they arrive.
  • Fills plant racks onto plant tables per plantogram to grand opening ready standards.
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage and orders replacements in accordance with merchandising standards.
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage throughout the store.
  • Ensures cross merchandise and side stack products are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
  • Assists with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
  • Maintains high communication and partnership with manager and associates.
  • Identifies and communicates issues with quality, quantity, and additional needs to management.
  • Adjusts fixtures, rotates stock, and displays products using power equipment as needed.
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned service and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensures all displays are safe and in working order, repairing or replacing as needed.
  • Removes trash and debris, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards.
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on specific role and department.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
  • Ability to work overnight and weekends.
  • Ability to utilize web-based computer programs to accomplish assigned tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Education Level: High School or GED.
  • Working knowledge of basic tools needed for the job (e.g., hand tools, drills, saws).
  • 6 Months Live nursery experience or Lowe's sales floor experience.
  • 6 Months Experience performing product merchandising tasks including reading plantograms, setting up and tearing down displays.
  • 3 Months Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay range of $16.50 - $23.10 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
