About the position

The Part Time Merchandising Service Associate - Plant Service role at Lowe's focuses on providing exceptional customer service while managing plant merchandising tasks. This position involves collaborating with the Merchandising Service team, ensuring compliance with merchandising standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The associate will engage with customers as needed, assist in locating and demonstrating products, and ensure that plant displays are set up according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
  • Builds relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe's specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs.
  • Engages with customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions.
  • Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers.
  • Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
  • Merchandises to plantogram, price, color block and places plants as they arrive.
  • Fills plant racks onto plant tables per plantogram to grand opening ready standards.
  • Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements in accordance with merchandising standards.
  • Updates/validates wayfinding and product location signage and maintains digital information throughout the store.
  • Ensures cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
  • Assists with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
  • Maintains high communication and partnership with manager and red vest associates.
  • Identifies and communicates issues with quality, quantity and additional needs to the Red Vest Outside Garden Manager and MSM.
  • Adjusts fixtures, rotates stock, and displays products using power equipment per service expectations.
  • Reviews, completes, and enters completion details for all assigned service and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensures all displays are safe and in working order and repaired/replaced as needed.
  • Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items.
  • Removes all trash, moves cardboard boxes to the bailer and moves plastic wrap and other debris to the compactor.
  • Replaces light bulbs and alerts the appropriate contact when additional maintenance issues are noted.
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicates them to management and/or Asset Protection.
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of Outside Garden and working areas.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties.
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on specific role and department.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
  • Ability to work overnight and weekends.
  • Ability to utilize web-based computer programs to accomplish assigned tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of basic tools needed for the job (e.g., hand tools, drills, saws).
  • 6 Months Live nursery experience or Lowe's sales floor experience.
  • 6 Months Experience performing product merchandising tasks including reading plantograms, setting up and tearing down displays.
  • 3 Months Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.
