About the position

A utility client is looking for a Part-Time MicroStation Drafter who will work with Engineers to create drafting documents for highly technical engineering solutions. This position is fully remote, allowing the selected candidate to work from home while being a California resident. The role requires participation in a collaborative and supportive team environment, with responsibilities including downloading native drawings and creating documentation for IT Telecom Projects utilizing Bently MicroStation, Adobe Pro, Visio, and Google Earth Pro. The company will provide a laptop and MicroStation for the job. The pay rate for this position is $35/hr on W2, with a long-term duration depending on business needs, and a schedule of 30 to 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Work remotely from home, requiring California residency.
• Download native drawings and create documentation for IT Telecom Projects using Bently MicroStation, Adobe Pro, Visio, and Google Earth Pro.
• Utilize provided laptop and MicroStation for drafting tasks.

Requirements

• Education, classes, and experience in engineering.
• 5+ years of Bently MicroStation experience at an expert level.
• 3+ years as a Design Drafter in the power or telecom industry, with trainable experience in substation, gas, or communications.
• Experience working with Engineers to create drafting documents for highly technical engineering solutions.
• Proven track record of success and delivering results.
• Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and working under tight deadlines.
• Experience in creating detailed drafting documents in support of construction packages for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills conducive to team development.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Solid experience working with facilities, engineering, and systems administration teams.
• Excellent skills using Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite.
• Ability to pass a NERC level background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating drafting documentation for telecommunication solutions including Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz, Radio, FAN, Circuits, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP.
• Experience updating Telecom Interconnect drawings, LAN/WAN drawings, FDFs, AMPS containers, Tower drawings, RFEs, and DDL's with links.
