About the position
The Part-Time Nanny position involves caring for two school-age children, aged 9 and 7, in Alameda, California. The role requires a reliable and engaging caregiver who can assist with school pick-ups, afterschool activities, homework help, and light meal preparation. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing environment while maintaining the household's organization and routine. This position is part-time, scheduled from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours for date nights.
Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing and positive environment for the children, encouraging their development through outdoor activities and creative play.
- Manage the daily schedule, including school pick-ups, ensuring punctuality and preparedness.
- Assist with light organization and tidying of the children's surroundings.
- Establish and maintain good boundaries with the children, fostering a nurturing atmosphere.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability and exceptional childcare skills.
- Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum is preferred.
- Comfortable with cooking for the family and engaging in creative play.
- Ability to take the children to appointments, therapy, and outings.
