About the position

WLUK is offering a part-time opportunity for individuals interested in starting a career in News Content Creation. This role focuses on training in video editing using Avid equipment, with the primary goal of editing visual stories for WLUK FOX 11 Weekend Newscasts. Additionally, the position includes training in social media content creation and news writing, making it an ideal fit for students pursuing careers in Journalism, Communications, or Visual/Social Media content creation.

Responsibilities

• Editing video for weekend news content on air and online
• Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
• Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
• Meeting deadlines in a high-energy working environment
• Some writing and social media content creation opportunities

Requirements

• High School degree and some college or technical school training in writing, visual content creation, social media content creation
• Knowledge of Avid New editing software is a plus, but training is provided
• Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
