About the position

A part-time associate research scientist position is available in the Center for Quantum Information Physics under the direction of Professor Javad Shabani in the Department of Physics at New York University. The position will require a commitment of nine (9) hours per week. The successful candidate will actively participate in the research activities of the lab alongside graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to a collaborative and innovative research environment. This opportunity is designed to facilitate a transition to career independence through the development of professional skills, with supervision provided by a senior scientist. An individual development plan will be incorporated to support the training goals of the candidate as well as those of faculty mentors. The focus of this position will be on quantum teleportation and photon detection. The work will specifically involve engaging in various aspects of quantum teleportation, photon detection, fabrication, and materials characterization. This role is ideal for individuals looking to deepen their expertise in cutting-edge research within the field of quantum physics, while also gaining valuable experience in a supportive academic setting.
