About the position

The Part-Time Noncredit Instructor Pool for Parenting Skills is responsible for providing quality instruction in a supportive learning environment. The instructor will create and maintain an atmosphere that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. The primary duties include curriculum development and teaching, with assignments divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Instructors are expected to be available to students outside of class hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development or early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development, elementary education, psychology, or family life studies.
• Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
• Compliance with Department of Social Services - Community Care Licensing requirements, including Child Development Program Director Permit or Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, TB test clearance, up-to-date immunizations, and current Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certificate.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience working in an Early Childhood Education Center or equivalent.

Benefits

• Hourly pay rate ranging from $55.20 to $110.92 depending on qualifications and experience.
