About the position

The Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position is designed for an experienced FNP-C or PA-C to join a collaborative Family Practice in Leland, NC. The role involves providing high-quality healthcare services to the community, with the potential for full-time employment in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family practice, emergency room, or urgent care settings, and will be responsible for patient assessments, managing chronic conditions, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, record medical histories, and formulate diagnoses.
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and radiology reports.
• Perform superficial surgical procedures such as lesion excision, biopsy, incision and drainage of abscesses, cryosurgery, pap smears, and suturing.
• Administer injections including joint, tendon, and trigger point injections.
• Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice, including compliance with accrediting agencies, CLIA, drug prescription, HIPAA, and safety regulations.
• Utilize ACO tools to assist patients in accessing high-value healthcare and maintain excellent quality scores within ACO programs.
• Rotate after-hours call with other staff providers.

Requirements

• Graduated from an Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina.
• Current DEA License.
• Current Certification in ACLS/BLS.
• Professional clinical experience in a family practice, emergency room, or urgent care setting.
• Experience with electronic health records.
