About the position

The Office Clerk position at the Palmyra New York Temple is an intermediate level individual contributor role within the Human Resource Department. This role is essential in supporting the Church's mission by performing a variety of clerical tasks that are crucial for the smooth operation of assigned functional groups. The Office Clerk will engage in established processes, utilizing limited analysis and basic problem-solving techniques to fulfill their responsibilities. Employees in this position will work under general oversight and will receive instructions on the tasks they are expected to perform. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that clerical duties are executed efficiently and accurately. This includes making copies, scanning documents, sending faxes, maintaining records and files, performing data entry, compiling and organizing data, performing standard calculations, distributing mail, answering simple questions and inquiries, and directing phone calls. The Office Clerk will play a vital role in maintaining the flow of information and supporting the administrative functions of the Temple. In addition to clerical tasks, the Office Clerk is expected to communicate professionally, both in writing and verbally, and to work effectively under general supervision while adhering to standard procedures and written instructions. The role may also involve physical demands such as sitting for extended periods, moving about the office, and using computer equipment. This position is part-time and requires a commitment to the values and mission of the Church, as well as a willingness to contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with standard office software sufficient to create or modify spreadsheets and word processing documents
  • Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work under general supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions
