About the position

Highpoint Family Vision is seeking a dedicated and flexible part-time Optician/Optometric Technician to join our growing team in Shawnee, KS. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, punctual, personable, and professional, with a strong focus on customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our office and the satisfaction of our patients. The position involves opening the office, verifying patients' insurance benefits, conducting preliminary exam testing, and educating patients on the proper insertion and removal of contact lenses. Additionally, the Optician/Optometric Technician will be responsible for answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, adjusting and selling glasses, edging lenses, and closing the office at the end of the day. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm, Wednesday from 10 am to 7 pm, and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. The part-time hours will vary based on the needs of the office, providing flexibility for the right candidate. As our practice continues to grow, there is potential for this part-time position to evolve into a full-time role if desired, or the option to remain part-time to better fit your schedule. While a high school diploma is required, some college education or a degree is preferred. We welcome applicants with no prior experience in the optical industry, making this an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates looking to start their careers in a supportive environment.

  • Under 1 year of experience in a related field
