Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer I

About the position

The part-time Parking Enforcement Officer I is responsible for enforcing parking laws and regulations under the supervision of the Watch Commander. This role requires independent work, professionalism, and a high level of customer service while patrolling assigned areas and issuing citations. The position is integral to maintaining order and safety in the City of Hawthorne.

Responsibilities

• Patrol an assigned area and enforce all parking laws and regulations.
• Give directions and information to the public.
• Issue parking citations as necessary.
• Maintain effective working relationships with the general public, supervisors, and subordinates.
• Perform other work as assigned and/or required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
• Experience dealing with the public.
• Education and/or experience in the field of law enforcement is highly desirable.
• Possess a valid California Class ‘C' driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
