About the position

The Part-Time Personal Banker I role at Synovus is an entry-level position focused on building proficiency in transaction, sales, and service functions within the banking environment. The role involves processing transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and consulting with customers to maximize sales potential. The banker will spend approximately 80% of their time on transactional and service functions and 20% on sales and relationship deepening activities, contributing to the financial growth of the branch while ensuring customer satisfaction and security.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively greet customers to establish a connection and develop rapport, providing outstanding, personalized customer service.
  • Assess customer needs and educate them on the digital strategy, directing them to appropriate service areas or banking representatives.
  • Execute a variety of customer transactions accurately and efficiently while maximizing sales potential.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide issue resolution in a professional manner.
  • Count, check, and package coins and currency, balancing the cash drawer at the end of the day.
  • Promote and explain Synovus products such as loans, IRAs, and credit cards to customers.
  • Optimize customer relationships by referring customers to branch team members for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Participate in daily kick-off and huddle activities, weekly sales meetings, and training activities.
  • Adhere to Branch Operations Standards and regulatory guidelines to protect against risk.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance, punctuality, and behavior.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of customer service, sales, or related work experience, or completion of one year of college/vocational school in lieu of work experience.
  • Knowledge of bank operations, policies, and federal regulations.
  • Strong customer service skills and aptitude for consultative selling.
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills to identify customer financial needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with customers.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage time and multi-task.
  • Mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
