About The Position

Gingerbread Cottage Preschool is seeking a part-time Preschool Teacher to lead a pre-k classroom for 4 to 5-year-olds starting January 2025. The role focuses on creating a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters emotional, social, and academic growth in children. The ideal candidate will implement the GBC curriculum, develop lesson plans, and ensure a safe and clean classroom while maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratio of 9:1.

Requirements

• Experience as a Preschool or Elementary School Teacher (required)
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in early-childhood education or related field (preferred)
• Excellent understanding of child development principles and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Professional, friendly, and dependable

• Knowledge of best practices in preschool education
• Ability to engage students and earn their trust

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out lesson plans
• Implement the GBC curriculum for preschool students
• Employ a variety of educational techniques such as storytelling and educational center play
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact positively and supportively with each other
• Guide children in developing artistic and practical capabilities through a structured curriculum
• Supervise students to ensure their safety at all times
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
