Part-Time Produce Quality Control Evaluator

About the position

The Produce Quality Control Evaluator at M. J. Kellner Foodservice is responsible for monitoring the quality of perishable produce and refrigerated items to ensure customer satisfaction. This part-time role involves physical tasks and requires effective communication with the Produce Quality Control Supervisor and Warehouse Managers regarding product quality and rotation. The position operates in a cooler warehouse environment and may require adjustments to the schedule based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product quality to ensure consistency with customer specifications.
• Check produce daily to ensure it meets acceptable standards for shipping.
• Communicate quality issues to the Produce Quality Control Supervisor.
• Rotate products properly during daily checks and report any rotation problems to Warehouse Managers.
• Inspect inbound freight, warehouse product, and outbound product, documenting product condition.
• Communicate regularly with necessary parties regarding product quality status.
• Observe all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies.
• Perform filing and copying as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Time management skills.
• Supervising experience is a plus, but not required.

• Prior knowledge of produce products.
