About the position

The Part-Time Professional Learning Partner (6th-8th Math) at Savvas Learning Company serves as an onsite representative who facilitates professional development and support for educators in the West region. This role is focused on implementing effective teaching strategies, utilizing Savvas products, and providing coaching to enhance classroom practices in math education for grades 6-8. The position requires a deep understanding of educational standards and the ability to deliver high-quality, job-embedded professional development to school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Effectively implement classroom components and resources in the program.
• Differentiate instruction based on student need.
• Manage a Savvas curriculum classroom, integrating technology and devices.
• Utilize data and reporting tools to impact instruction and decision making.
• Coach teachers to apply the philosophy and pedagogy of the program.
• Observe classroom practices and provide critical feedback to teachers.
• Use dashboards to inform data-based decision making.
• Support administrators with coaching and training for effective implementation.
• Communicate regularly with school and district leaders.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. preferred.
• 5+ years of successful teaching experience in a 6-8 school setting, particularly in Math.
• Experience offering workshops/coaching to teachers.
• Experience with classroom-based technology integration.
• Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher.
• Strong collaboration and team building skills.
• Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Ability to plan strategically and coach school leaders and teachers.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in scaffolding instruction for English Language Learners.
• Certified in bilingual education is highly preferred.
• Experience in scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities.
• Experience in Virtual Teaching and Learning.
