About the position

The Part-Time Professional Learning Partner (6th-8th Math) at Savvas Learning Company serves as an onsite representative responsible for delivering professional development and technical assistance to schools. This role aims to initiate lasting change in educational practices by supporting district personnel and school faculty in implementing effective strategies using Savvas products and methodologies. The position requires extensive experience in teaching, particularly in a 6-8 school setting, and involves coaching, observation, and data-based decision-making to enhance instructional practices.

Responsibilities

• Effectively implement classroom components and resources in the program.
• Differentiate instruction based on student need.
• Manage a Savvas curriculum classroom and technology integration.
• Utilize data and reporting tools to impact instruction and decision making.
• Coach teachers to apply the philosophy and pedagogy of the program.
• Observe classroom practices and provide critical feedback to teachers.
• Use dashboards to inform data-based decision making.
• Support administrators with implementation needs and provide feedback on instructional practices.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. preferred.
• 5+ years of successful teaching experience in a 6-8 school setting.
• Experience offering workshops/coaching to teachers.
• Experience with classroom-based technology integration.
• Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher in the Math content area.
• Strong collaboration and team building skills.
• Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Ability to plan strategically and coach school leaders and teachers.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in scaffolding instruction for English Language Learners.
• Certified in bilingual education is highly preferred.
• Experience in scaffolding instruction for students with disabilities.
• Strategies for effective classroom use of instructional technology.
• Experience in Virtual Teaching and Learning.
