About the position

The Program Assistant position at the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) in Oklahoma City is designed for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about social justice. This role supports program staff and participants by managing daily operations, facilitating workshops, and providing administrative assistance. The ideal candidate will embody a collaborative spirit and a commitment to the mission of helping formerly incarcerated individuals transition to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the flow of participant appointments daily and informing staff of participant arrivals.
  • Acting as the first touch point of the organization by welcoming and directing participants to their appointments and answering their questions.
  • Alerting management to the morale of participants in the waiting area.
  • Attending job coaching meetings and providing insights into participants' job readiness roadblocks.
  • Facilitating workshops as requested by management.
  • Meeting with assigned staff to discuss participant engagement during workshops.
  • Shadowing program employees and assisting with other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and comfort with technology including Google Suite and Salesforce.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from varying backgrounds and experiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a nonprofit environment or with social justice organizations.
  • Familiarity with reentry programs or services for formerly incarcerated individuals.
