About the position

The Part-Time Program Coordinator position at the University of California, Merced, is designed to facilitate programming in assigned areas based on established agendas and program plans. This role involves coordinating all operations and logistics for the programming as directed by the Extension Leadership team. The coordinator will engage in business development with prospective organizations and companies in the region, identifying opportunities for collaboration and support for the program's objectives. A key responsibility includes identifying, engaging, and acquiring guest speakers, instructors, and other subject matter experts to enhance the program's offerings. The coordinator will also evaluate and report outcomes as part of a continuous improvement strategy, ensuring that the programming aligns with the needs of the community and the goals of the department. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Part-Time Program Coordinator will develop curricular outlines, program plans, and agendas for assigned program areas. This includes curating high-quality academic resources to support the educational objectives of the programs. The position is anticipated to start at various times throughout the fiscal year based on departmental needs, with a duration expected to be no less than one year. The role is part-time, with a commitment of 10-20% time based on the needs identified by the department, and the salary is commensurate with the percentage of time worked, based on a full-time equivalent of $59,727.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate programming in assigned area based on designed agendas and program plans.
  • Coordinate all operations and logistics of assigned areas programming as assigned by the Extension Leadership team.
  • Conduct business development with prospective organizations and companies in the region desiring assigned areas, or on an as needed basis.
  • Identify, engage, and acquire guest speakers, instructors, and other subject matter experts to support the designed agenda and program plans.
  • Evaluate and report outcomes as part of a continuous improvement strategy to Extension leadership team.
  • Identify topical areas aligned with up-to-date assigned areas for consideration of partnering organizations or companies.
  • Develop curricular outlines, program plans, and agendas for assigned program areas.
  • Curate high quality, academic resources for assigned program areas.
  • Perform other duties as needed dependent on project deliverables or desired outcomes as identified by UC Merced Extension leadership.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or higher in the related program area.
  • A minimum of 7 years experience of professional, instruction, or combination of both in the related program area.
