About the position

The Part-Time Program Support position at the EPA's Office of Research and Development in Cincinnati, OH, is designed to assist the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (SHEM) team with technical and administrative duties. This role supports the implementation of safety and health regulations and guidelines, contributing to the overall mission of the EPA to improve environmental quality through research and compliance management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the SHEM team with technical and administrative duties related to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Research and prepare reports on safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Assist with SHEM program meetings and prepare written reports using Microsoft Word.
  • Maintain office records and prepare project documents, including data entry in Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Create and present safety and health compliance training materials to EPA-Cincinnati staff.
  • Maintain SHEM training records and assist in performance of SHEM programs such as chemical inventory and waste management.
  • Develop safety and health communication materials like bulletin boards and PowerPoint presentations.

Requirements

  • At least one year of college experience with coursework in biological sciences, engineering, physical or environmental sciences from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated education and/or experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in administrative support functions, including recordkeeping and managing databases.
  • Strong written, oral, and electronic communication skills.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $18.42
  • Part-time hours up to 24 hours per week
  • Temporary employment with ORAU as a contractor to EPA
