About the position

Ajax Management Group Inc is a dynamic and growing residential real estate development, construction, and property management company based in Trenton, NJ. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will work closely with the Controller, managing a portfolio of development properties and supporting various aspects of our operations. The Property Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and organizing books and records for corporate and development projects, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. In this position, you will prepare monthly bank reconciliations for corporate and development accounts, manage vendor relationships, process invoices, and handle accounts payable. You will review, enter, and ensure timely payment of invoices, including corporate card management. Additionally, you will assist in preparing monthly construction loan draws and ensure that month-end processes are completed accurately and on time. Supporting the Controller in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, including 1099s, will also be a key part of your responsibilities. You may also handle miscellaneous special projects as assigned by the Controller, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the Real Estate and/or Construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, math, and reasoning skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Real Estate Property Management or Construction & Development accounting.
  • Familiarity with Yardi or comparable property management software.
