About the position
The Part-Time Public Safety Officer is responsible for the security of Campus facilities. This position involves supervising traffic flow, managing parking areas, and ensuring crowd control at special events and during peak registration periods. The officer will greet the public, issue passes and parking permits, direct visitors to their destinations, write accurate and complete security reports, and maintain a detailed security log. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Must possess a valid Florida State Unarmed Officer D license or provide a temporary Class 'D' license prior to employment with the ability to provide an approved valid license within 90 days of start date
- A valid Florida Driver License
- Ability to safely operate College motorized vehicles and clear a license background check
- Ability to successfully complete a basic security training course and provide certificate of completion
- Ability to apply campus security rules and regulations
- Ability and willingness to work any emergencies
- Ability and willingness to work any shift, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
