About the position

The part-time research scientist will support a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded project at the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Fairleigh Dickinson University. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about research in the fields of chemistry and biology and are looking to contribute to innovative projects that advance scientific knowledge. The research scientist will be expected to work a maximum of 24 hours a week, providing flexibility while ensuring that project goals are met efficiently. The position requires collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other team members to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the overall success of the research project. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of the research process, including experimental design, execution, and data interpretation, while adhering to safety and compliance regulations in the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the NSF-funded research project by conducting experiments in chemistry or biology.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to design and implement research protocols.
  • Analyze experimental data and contribute to the interpretation of results.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory work and findings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Chemistry or Biology is required.
  • Laboratory experience in conducting chemistry or biology experiments is essential.
  • Basic knowledge in chromatography is necessary.
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
