About the position

The Part-Time Resource Coach at Montgomery County Community College is a temporary, grant-funded role focused on enhancing student retention and completion through holistic case management and support. This position engages with students to identify barriers to their success and connects them with appropriate resources. The coach will facilitate workshops, peer support groups, and provide targeted assistance to promote student wellness and academic persistence.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students daily to identify barriers to retention and completion.
• Provide holistic case management services to support student success.
• Facilitate informational sessions and workshops for students, faculty, and staff.
• Assist students in accessing campus and community resources.
• Promote student wellness through various communication methods including in-person meetings, emails, and video chats.
• Help facilitate peer support groups within the Wellness Center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, or related field required.
• At least 2 years of case management experience required.
• Strong youth engagement and positive youth development skills.
• Proficient in using technology, including Microsoft Office applications and student information systems.
• Experience working with data management tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with students, administration, faculty, and the community.

• Understanding of relevant regulatory issues including HIPAA and FERPA.
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
