About the position

The Part-Time Resource Coach at Montgomery County Community College is a temporary, grant-funded position aimed at enhancing student retention and completion through holistic case management and support. The role involves engaging with students to identify barriers to their success, providing solutions, and connecting them with campus and community resources. The Resource Coach will also facilitate workshops and peer support groups, promoting student wellness and ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to thrive academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students daily to identify barriers to retention and completion.
• Provide holistic case management services and targeted support.
• Assist students in accessing appropriate campus and community resources.
• Facilitate informational sessions and workshops for students, faculty, and staff.
• Help facilitate peer support groups within the Wellness Center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, or related field required.
• At least 2 years of case management experience required.
• Strong youth engagement and positive youth development skills.
• Proficient in using technology, including Microsoft Office applications and student information systems.
• Experience working with data management tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with students, administration, faculty, and the community.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a peer-to-peer learning environment.
• Understanding of relevant regulatory issues including HIPAA and FERPA.
• Highly motivated to help students succeed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in interpersonal contacts.
