About the position

The Part-Time Sales Team Leader at our Town East Mall location in Mesquite, TX, plays a crucial role in assisting store management with in-store supervision and directing personnel. This position is designed for individuals who can provide effective leadership to all associates while displaying the highest level of customer service in all areas. As a front-line member of the Retail Store Leadership Team, the Sales Team Leader will be responsible for greeting and assisting guests in their selection and purchase of merchandise, resolving guest issues effectively, and keeping supervisors informed of product, guest, and personnel issues. In this role, the Sales Team Leader will monitor and approve guest returns in accordance with retail policies and will be responsible for monitoring associates' guest service levels, providing feedback as needed. Utilizing the GUESTS program, the Sales Team Leader will interact with guests on the sales floor or over the phone, particularly when handling guest-owned jewelry. The position also involves preparing and reviewing supply orders from the JAC warehouse and preparing orders for other items through applicable purchasing channels. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing store opening and closing duties, providing training to associates with an emphasis on guest service and sales, and coordinating regular and seasonal associate training. Additionally, the Sales Team Leader will assist in the annual inventory process, ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines, and will participate in inventory cycle counting, adjustments, and shipping and receiving of merchandise. The role requires participation in regularly scheduled store meetings, implementing plans for company special events and promotions, and developing team-building activities. The Sales Team Leader will also monitor product trends and changes in retail, communicating these to the District Manager. The position requires full training to operate all service equipment, ensuring that product care services meet or exceed operational standards. Visual merchandising responsibilities include staging, setup, maintenance, and replacement of display items according to company standards. The Sales Team Leader will also process employee purchases in the absence of higher management and will review and create employee schedules, ensuring adherence to operational and budgetary guidelines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Safety regulations must be observed, and all company policies must be adhered to, including attendance guidelines and electronic communication policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the annual inventory process; ensure compliance with established processes and guidelines.
  • Participate and assist in conducting regularly scheduled store meetings.
  • Implement plans to effectively participate in company special events and/or promotions.
  • Develop and conduct team building activities.
  • Monitor product trends and changes in retail and communicate to District Manager.
  • Be fully trained to operate all service equipment and train staff to operate all service area equipment and small tools.
  • Ensure product care services meet/exceed operational standards.
  • Perform staging, setup, maintenance and replacement of display items using the visual merchandising guide parameters.
  • Assist store management in maintaining company standards for overall store presentation.
  • Process employee purchases in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure company security procedures are used to protect assets.
  • Review/create employee schedules in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Approve store schedules ensuring operational and budgetary guidelines are met.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1-year retail or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening that meets company standards.
