About the position

The Part Time Sales Team Leader at James Avery Craftsman, Inc. is responsible for assisting store management with in-store supervision and providing effective leadership to associates. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service, training staff, and ensuring compliance with retail policies. The Sales Team Leader will also handle various operational tasks, including inventory management and visual merchandising, while fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Management with in-store supervision and directing personnel.
  • Provide effective leadership to all associates and display high levels of customer service.
  • Greet and assist guests in the selection and purchase of merchandise.
  • Resolve guest issues effectively and keep supervisors informed of product, guest, and personnel issues.
  • Monitor and approve guest returns in accordance with retail policies.
  • Monitor associates' guest service levels and provide feedback as needed.
  • Utilize the GUESTS program when interacting with guests on the sales floor or phone.
  • Prepare and review supply orders from the JAC warehouse and other purchasing channels.
  • Perform leadership responsibilities for store opening and closing duties.
  • Provide leadership and training to associates with an emphasis on guest service and sales.
  • Coordinate regular and seasonal associate training.
  • Delegate assignments to associates and assist in the annual inventory process.
  • Participate in conducting regularly scheduled store meetings and implement plans for company events or promotions.
  • Develop and conduct team-building activities and monitor product trends.
  • Ensure product care services meet operational standards and train staff on service equipment.
  • Perform visual merchandising tasks and maintain company standards for store presentation.
  • Process employee purchases in the absence of higher management and ensure security procedures are followed.
  • Review/create employee schedules in the absence of higher management and approve store schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1-year retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery.
