About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team at Security Logistics Group, Inc. This part-time position focuses on maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors during overnight shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to security, possess excellent observational skills, and be capable of responding effectively to various situations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security.
- Operate surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to observe activities and identify potential security threats.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises to identify vulnerabilities or safety hazards.
- Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and prevent unauthorized access.
- Provide assistance during emergencies, including administering CPR and first aid as needed.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary for incident reporting or investigations.
- Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports for future reference.
- Engage in conflict management strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
Requirements
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
- Experience with surveillance systems (CCTV) is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Background in loss prevention or law enforcement is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A keen eye for detail with strong observational skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a security role is beneficial but not mandatory.
