The Tucson Museum of Art is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a part-time Security Officer (III). This specialized security role is essential in ensuring the safety and security of our collections and visitors. The position requires a sound knowledge of museum security principles and the ability to enforce rules with good judgment and tact. The Security Officer will work primarily on weekends, with an average schedule of two days per week, totaling seven hours per day from Thursday through Sunday. The work shift may vary based on the Museum's exhibition, event, and facility rental schedule. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment within the Museum complex. This includes observing visitor behavior, answering questions, and serving as a representative of the Museum to the public. You will assist in identifying risks to the Museum, its facilities, visitors, and personnel. Additionally, you will be involved in the setup and breakdown of Museum events and may perform light housekeeping duties when time permits, such as dusting or vacuuming. Your role will also involve completing incident reports as necessary and ensuring compliance with the Museum's Security Manual procedures and policies.
