About the position
The Part Time Security Officer position at Lumen Field and Lumen Field Event Center involves providing security services to ensure the safety and security of the venue and its patrons. The appointee will serve as a primary point of contact for all internal and external customers regarding security-related needs, demonstrating a commitment to honesty, integrity, and professionalism. The role requires the ability to resolve conflicts constructively and maintain a courteous demeanor at all times. Dependability and punctuality are essential, as the officer will be responsible for monitoring events and responding to incidents as they arise. The Security Officer will be tasked with various essential duties, including providing coverage of the Command Center, conducting inside and outside roving patrols, and logging all activities performed during their shift. They will investigate and write incident reports for significant occurrences, utilize security radio systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm and access control systems. The officer will also challenge and identify suspicious individuals on the property and ensure security and access control during all stadium events, adhering to the policies and procedures set forth by the security department. In addition to these responsibilities, the Security Officer must maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards, communicate effectively with team members and the public, and demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend instructions and policies. The role may require working a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, and involves physical demands such as lifting at least 25 lbs and performing walking patrols that include stairs and ramps.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage of Command Center, inside/outside roving patrol, and other posts as directed by supervisor
- Log and report all activities performed during shift
- Investigate and write incident reports on all significant incidents occurring while on duty
- Understand and use security radio system
- Understand and use surveillance camera system
- Understand and use alarm and access control systems
- Challenge and identify all suspicious people found on property
- Provide security and access control for all stadium events
- Follow all policies and procedures as specified by the security department
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the date of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) or more years of security experience; previous law enforcement experience strongly preferred, but not required
- Two (2) or more years of part-time/full-time work experience in the security/public safety field
- Demonstrated above average interpersonal skills
- Proven success to deescalate confrontational situations using verbal skills
- Able to pass a personal background inquiry
- Demonstrated ability to work within large crowds of people
