About the position

St. William Catholic School, located in Walled Lake, MI, is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where students can encounter Christ and grow in their faith. We are currently seeking a part-time Spanish Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year who will join us in this mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to modeling our Catholic values, helping students to become the Saints that God has created them to be. This position requires certification to teach in a self-contained classroom or specifically in Spanish. St. William Catholic School collaborates with Brighton and Berkley Schools to ensure that we attract highly qualified teachers and offer them a competitive wage. Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish language and culture to students in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Model Catholic values and integrate them into the teaching curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to help them improve their language skills.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for students.

Requirements

  • Certified to teach in a self-contained classroom or certified to teach Spanish.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to Catholic education.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience teaching Spanish at the elementary or middle school level.
  • Familiarity with Catholic traditions and values.
