About the position

The Staff Accountant at Bridgewell is responsible for providing financial services to the organization's programs, ensuring accurate processing and monitoring of payments, and maintaining the billing system. This part-time role requires compliance with established policies and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and timely customer billing. The position offers flexibility in scheduling, with a commitment to supporting individuals facing life challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the day-to-day processing of financial transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Review the Collection of Food Stamps benefits and record monthly.
  • Calculate care costs as changes occur.
  • Update and record monthly billing for customers.
  • Apply for payment and reconcile individual accounts.
  • Print and distribute monthly aging statements and related reports.
  • Cross-train and assist in Contract Billing and reconciliations as needed.
  • Assist in the yearly audit process.
  • Maintain and review programs for efficient and updated information.
  • Maintain Care Costs and Food Stamps records.
  • Update customer profiles in Financial Edge.
  • Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial and customer files.
  • Send collection letters and make calls for Care Cost accounts.
  • Reconcile Revenue and AR accounts monthly and yearly.
  • Provide customer service and respond to inquiries.
  • Answer phones and follow up on email correspondence.
  • Inform PD and supervisors of changes regarding care costs, lease renewals, and food stamp expiration.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree with courses in accounting, business, or equivalent.
  • Accounts Receivable experience.
