About the position

The Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker at ALDI plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer shopping experience within a collaborative team environment. This position involves operating registers, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and providing exceptional customer service. The role offers a dynamic work environment with new challenges each day.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility
  • Processes customer purchases and performs general cleaning duties
  • Stocks shelves and merchandise displays neatly
  • Provides exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping experience
  • Provides feedback to management on products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues
  • Participates in taking store inventory counts and monitoring inventory for accuracy
  • Stocks shelves and rotates product properly to guarantee fresh product availability
  • Follows merchandising planograms to create excellently merchandised displays
  • Organizes new inventory and removes empty boxes
  • Operates machinery and follows all safety procedures

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Comply with state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and properly, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
  • Morning availability to accommodate store operational responsibilities

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
