About the position

As a Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker at ALDI, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer shopping experience in a collaborative team environment. This position involves operating registers, stocking shelves, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and ensuring that the store is well-stocked and organized. The role offers a dynamic work environment where each day presents new challenges and opportunities to engage with customers and team members alike. In your capacity as a Cashier, you will process customer purchases, perform general cleaning duties, and ensure that merchandise displays are neat and appealing. You will also provide feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, and any scanning errors that may occur. Participation in inventory counts and adherence to cash policies and procedures are essential to minimize losses and maintain operational efficiency. As a Stocker, your responsibilities will include stocking shelves, rotating products to guarantee freshness, and following merchandising planograms to create attractive displays. You will be tasked with organizing new inventory, breaking down empty boxes, and operating machinery while adhering to all safety procedures. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be regularly required to lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds and perform various physical tasks throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility
  • Processes customer purchases and performs general cleaning duties
  • Stocks shelves and merchandise displays neatly
  • Provides exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping experience
  • Provides feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues
  • Participates in taking store inventory counts according to guidelines and monitoring inventory for accuracy
  • Adheres to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
  • Stocks shelves and rotates product properly to guarantee fresh product is available for the customer
  • Follows merchandising planograms to create excellently merchandised displays
  • Organizes new inventory, removes and breaks down empty boxes
  • Operates machinery and follows all safety procedures

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Comply with state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and properly, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge

Benefits
