About the position
The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated individual to provide excellent customer service to donors at the donation door of a store. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized donation area, accurately handling transactions, and ensuring the security of donated materials. The position emphasizes a friendly demeanor and professional appearance while engaging with donors and assisting them as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to donors at the donation door.
- Maintain a clean and organized donation area.
- Handle each transaction with accuracy.
- Present a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code at all times.
- Greet donors and inquire if they need assistance.
- Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment.
- Receive and receipt all donated materials, ensuring email addresses are obtained from donors.
- Track donations according to center policy.
- Advise donors about unacceptable materials and heavy items that require pick-up service.
- Sort, load, and unload all Salvation Army trucks per center policy.
- Report complaints, damage, and injuries occurring in the donation area.
- Support production processes as needed.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Attention to detail for handling transactions accurately.
- Ability to communicate courteously with donors.
