About the position

Student Ambassadors serve as a key information source for incoming and current students to North Shore Community College. As part of a team, each Student Ambassador will present information on a variety of topics at live/virtual events and assist students in attendance with their questions/concerns about their experience at NSCC. Student Ambassadors will participate in training activities on a variety of topics. The Student Ambassador Team will also take turns attending registration related activities to provide event logistical support.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for current and prospective students.
  • Assist with on-campus visits and give campus tours at the Danvers and/or Lynn Campus.
  • Serve as a front desk assistant at campus/virtual enrollment centers as scheduled/needed.
  • Call and text new and prospective students to invite them for campus visits and answer questions about attending NSCC.
  • Facilitate and assist with Admissions related events such as open houses, application, completion and registration events.
  • Attend student ambassador training sessions and meetings.
  • Work with various campus departments as needed.
  • Serve a year-long commitment- Fall, Spring & Summer Semesters.

Requirements

  • Be enthusiastic, driven, creative, and friendly.
  • Possess excellent written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
  • Positively represent the college.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of current and prospective students.
  • Work well with in a team environment.
  • Commit to up to 20 hours of work each week between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, during the fall, spring and summer semesters (occasional weekend/evening hours also required).
  • Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours in both the Fall and Spring semester.
  • Have an unweighted 2.0 grade point average from their most recent institution (high school, transferring from another college, etc.). Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA at NSCC.
  • Must be in good disciplinary standing with the College.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.

Benefits

  • $16.80 per hour, non-benefited position.
