About the position

The Part Time Substitute Teacher at ChildCareGroup in Corsicana, Texas, serves as a temporary team member responsible for planning and implementing educational programs for children. This role ensures a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to various program standards. The teacher works under the supervision of the Children's Program Coordinator and/or Site Based Manager, requiring some independent judgment and action.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, preparation, and implementation of work with children appropriate to their developmental level.
• Becomes familiar with the routine of each classroom in which they may work.
• Assumes responsibility for the daily classroom program in the Teacher's absence.
• Shares responsibility for setting up the room for daily activities and provides attractive and functional learning centers.
• Develops good relations with children and their families, serving as a team member in the assigned classroom.
• Maintains knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System, ChildPlus, and/or Redelearner Database.
• Participates in parent meetings and conferences, assisting in the entry process of children into the caregiving group.
• Assists in the inventory and request for equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with young children; 1 year preferred.
• Demonstrated desire to work with young children and general knowledge of normal growth and development.
• Ability to work as a team member with good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, parents, and center volunteers.
• Regular and prompt attendance required.
