About the position
The Teaching Assistant position at the Eberly College of Science, Department of Biology, is designed to support faculty in delivering Biology courses during the 2024-2025 academic year. The role involves assisting in organizing coursework, explaining biological concepts to students, and conducting office hours or review sessions. This position is specifically for full-time registered Penn State students and will be supervised by Denise Woodward.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty in organizing coursework for Biology courses.
- Explain biology concepts to students to enhance their understanding.
- Hold office hours and/or review sessions for students.
- Support the teaching faculty in various academic tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a full-time registered Penn State student.
- Ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills to assist in coursework management.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or tutor in biology.
