Tellers are responsible for handling cash transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations. Responsibilities

• Delivers excellence in customer service, guidance, and respect to all Solvay Bank customers and co-workers.
• Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amounts, and examines check endorsements.
• Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
• Processes negotiable instruments following all policies and procedures, generating computer receipts.
• Enters customer transactions into computer software to record transactions and issues receipts.
• Places holds on accounts in accordance with bank and regulatory policy.
• Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totals with computer data.
• Develops strong knowledge of the Bank's deposit and electronic banking products to recognize client needs and make appropriate referrals.
• Maintains proper cash levels in drawers, keeps cash secure, and ensures a high level of security for the bank.
• Responds to customer inquiries as appropriate and assists with daily scanning to balance the branch.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience in counting currency and coin.
• Good math aptitude.
• Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with all types of customers.
• Customer service experience.
• Previous cash handling experience.
