Part-Time Warehouse Material Handler

About the position

As a Warehouse Material Handler at Graybar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are efficiently received, stored, selected, packed, and shipped within our warehouse. This position is integral to our operations, as it directly impacts our ability to meet customer demands and maintain our reputation for reliability. You will be working in a part-time, hourly, non-exempt capacity, primarily from Monday to Friday, with a predictable work schedule that allows you to plan your life around your job, as there are typically no weekend or night shifts required for most roles. The expected pay rate for this position is $22.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of your contributions to our team. In this role, you will utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage inventory effectively. This means that a certain level of technological proficiency is required, as you will be operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts. Your responsibilities will include receiving and storing incoming materials according to established WMS processes, selecting and packing shipments, and conducting cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels. Additionally, you will be responsible for sorting and packing less-than-truckload shipments, ensuring that all products are handled safely and efficiently. Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment is essential, and you will be expected to follow all safety procedures and perform daily safety inspections. This role requires physical stamina, as you will be lifting various loads, cutting wire, climbing ladders, and staying active in different temperatures throughout your shift. To qualify for this position, you must be at least 18 years old and possess a strong work ethic with good attendance. While prior experience in a large warehouse setting and familiarity with warehouse management systems are preferred, we value a willingness to learn and grow within our company.

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts.
• Receive and store incoming material in accordance with warehouse management system processes.
• Select, pack, and palletize shipments.
• Sort and pack less-than-truckload shipments and conduct cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean warehouse, following all safety procedures and performing daily safety inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age required.
• Good attendance and work ethic.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Prior large warehouse experience using a warehouse management system preferred.
• Ability to perform physical requirements in a warehouse environment, including lifting various loads, cutting wire, climbing ladders, and staying on the move in various temperatures.
