About the position

The Part Time Watch Stander at Sawdey Solution Services is responsible for monitoring incoming data channels to ensure connectivity and uninterrupted information flow in accordance with the USCG's OPTASKCOP. This role involves maintaining the track database, resolving data conflicts, coordinating with other USCG units, and providing situational awareness to command staff. The position requires a thorough understanding of GCCS operations and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming data channels to ensure connectivity with supported nodes.
  • Maintain the track database in accordance with the OPTASK COP.
  • Resolve ambiguous data by merging or initiating new tracks.
  • Coordinate with other USCG units via SIPRNet Chat or email to correct data inconsistencies.
  • Maintain situational awareness of ongoing events and exercises within the area of responsibility.
  • Support Area Commanders by broadcasting the COP as requested.
  • Utilize tactical decision aids to highlight high-interest data for operational commanders.
  • Prepare overlays and track groups for weekly operations briefs.
  • Coordinate with technical staff for restoration of GCCS failures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and system failure restoration efforts.
  • Control access to COP SYNCH Architectures and manage permissions.
  • Recommend enhancements or modifications for USCG's SOPs in monthly reports.
  • Provide on-the-job training and orientation to government personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a GCCS operator for the U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Defense.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Defense policies for GCCS and Common Operational Picture.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance.
