Part Time Weekend Rover -Judicial Associate I - Criminal & General Sessions

About the position

The Judicial Associate I - Part-Time Weekend Rover position at the Denver County Court involves providing support in the Criminal and General Sessions Division. This role is essential for maintaining courtroom activities, managing case records, and ensuring procedural fairness while delivering excellent customer service. The position requires working every weekend, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays, and offers a unique opportunity to interact with various Judicial Officers and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent and unbiased customer service in a high-volume division to all who visit the court.
• Support procedural fairness in court operations.
• Maintain detailed and confidential records and manage all courtroom activities and functions.
• Act as a liaison between defendants, court personnel, and the judicial officer.
• Enter Judge's orders and findings in the case record in real time during court proceedings.
• Work independently with little supervision in the Denver Detention Center on weekends.
• Occasionally adjust work hours as needed for heavy dockets.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.
• Two years of experience in a court, law enforcement, or legal setting.
• Ability to pass an initial pre-security clearance screening and maintain CBI certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Paralegal experience and/or court-specific knowledge.
• Experience with customer de-escalation and conflict management.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated and enjoy working with a small team of colleagues and Judicial Officers.
• Comfortable learning new software and understanding complex processes.
