Part-time - Entry Level
About the position
The Part-Time WR Trades Supervisor is a field position responsible for overseeing the construction, repair, and maintenance of public utilities, including water mains, service lines, and fire hydrants. This role involves managing various complex vehicles and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards. The position is part-time, limited to a maximum of 1,560 hours per year, and does not include benefits or paid holidays.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation and repair of sewer, water, and/or stormwater lines.
- Oversee the landscaping and restoration of work areas disturbed by repair crews.
- Oversee the replacement and installation of new equipment.
- Perform labor in the construction and maintenance of public roadways, sewer, water, meters, and/or stormwater lines.
- Respond to complex questions and concerns from customers, resolve problems as they arise, and educate customers on utility operations.
- Assist in coordinating the work of contractors by overseeing site operation, interpreting specifications, and evaluating job conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License from state of residency.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A.
- Basic computer skills.
- Three years of related experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
