About the position

The Yard/Customer Service Associate at Central Valley Builders Supply is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service while managing building materials in the yard and warehouse. The position involves locating, loading, and unloading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. Associates will also assist customers in finding products and loading their vehicles, contributing to a smooth transaction process.

Responsibilities

• Locate, load, and unload building materials in the yard and warehouse.
• Write accurate yard tags to ensure proper inventory count.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Help customers locate the product they need and load vehicles as necessary.
• Unload and stock incoming materials.
• Keep all yard and warehouse areas clean, neat, safe, and secure.
• Assemble and load products for delivery to customers.
• Observe yard and warehouse for safety, potential theft, and security risks.
• Review vendor packing slips to verify quantity, product accuracy, and condition.
• Resolve customer dissatisfaction with materials.
• Store material safely to prevent damage.
• Stock inventory neatly in the proper location within the yard and/or warehouse.
• Rotate stock to maintain product quality.
• Identify different building materials and wood products.
• Operate and maintain the forklift and other yard equipment safely.
• Complete daily forklift checklist.
• Measure and cut materials by operating a power saw.
• Report all damages to the supervisor immediately.

Requirements

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Strong measuring skills.
• Familiarity with power and hand tools.
