About the position
The Partner Communications Specialist at UNDP is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing communications plans and visibility-raising initiatives that enhance UNDP's corporate resource mobilization strategy. This role focuses on strengthening partnerships through effective communication and engagement with donors and other partners, while also opening new opportunities for collaboration. The Specialist will work closely with various teams within the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) to ensure that UNDP's impactful work is effectively communicated to donor audiences.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualizes and implements a comprehensive strategy for positioning UNDP and its work with donor audiences.
- Provides strategic input and support to the development and implementation of partner-targeted campaigns and communications plans.
- Drafts and edits products including press releases, funding announcements, and social media messages for external communications.
- Coordinates cross-bureau collaboration for donor communications and engagement campaigns.
- Identifies and strengthens outreach to partners through strategic activations within BERA and across UNDP.
- Provides strategic guidance to UNDP Representation Offices to increase visibility of UNDP's impact.
- Identifies and monitors donor communication and engagement training needs.
Requirements
- Advanced University Degree (master's degree) in Communications, International Relations, Global Communications, or relevant field, or a bachelor's degree with additional qualifying experience.
- Minimum seven years of relevant professional work experience in corporate communications, strategic partnerships, or donor relations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working within the UN system is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the multilateral development landscape and related institutions.
- Experience providing strategic advisory services and inter-bureau coordination.
