About the position

The Partners for Re-Entry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) Career Coach position is designed to assist individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. This role involves assessing the re-entry needs of offenders, developing and implementing transitional plans, and coordinating with various organizations to provide necessary support and services. The position is primarily remote, requiring two days of in-person work at the assigned facility, and is grant-funded with an expected expiration date of June 30, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the re-entry needs of individual offenders.
  • Develop and implement transitional plans for offenders.
  • Research and gather community resources and support for offenders.
  • Provide linkages to other agencies and organizations.
  • Deliver services in both group and individual settings.
  • Coordinate with Federal Parole Officers and other local service delivery entities.
  • Enhance public safety through effective service delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to support Adults in Custody (AICs).
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to share information with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Five years of relevant experience working with past and currently incarcerated persons in probation, parole, correctional and prison facilities, or career development.
  • Demonstrated success in assisting Adults in Custody (AIC) with their transition back into the community.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple organizations to provide career development and social services.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals from various education levels.
  • Knowledge of effective outreach and recruitment strategies with justice-involved individuals.
