About the position

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Partnership Manager at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for leading the internal planning and external strategic engagement with multi- and bi-lateral organizations, particularly the GEF. This role involves identifying and cultivating public funding opportunities, managing outreach and engagement with GEF, and collaborating with various internal teams to support TNC's public funding pipeline and financial planning. The position requires a deep understanding of GEF funding priorities and the ability to influence public partners to secure lasting conservation outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal planning and external strategic engagement with GEF and other organizations.
  • Identify and cultivate public funding opportunities through various activities.
  • Manage outreach and engagement with GEF, collaborating with internal teams.
  • Understand GEF funding priorities and interact with multilateral institutions.
  • Cultivate relationships with GEF staff and partner entities.
  • Update and maintain the Conservancy's donor database for partner and donor information.
  • Produce reports, perform analysis, and track public partners.
  • Attend public meetings and support public events and engagement strategies with GEF.
  • Provide support and guidance to teams developing proposals.
  • Seek matching gift opportunities and develop materials for private donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience building relationships with donors, volunteers, and senior staff.
  • Experience developing funding proposals with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in policy and priority setting exercises.
  • Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with teams across the organization.
  • Experience or training in fundraising principles and practices.
  • Government agency or public fundraising experience.
  • Managerial experience including setting objectives and managing performance.
  • Experience with GEF and multilateral climate finance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in environmental conservation or related fields.
  • Knowledge of international environmental policies and funding mechanisms.
