About the position

The Parts and Service Manager at Patriot Sales & Service is responsible for overseeing the parts and service departments, ensuring high-quality customer service, and managing technical support for heavy-duty equipment. This role involves coordinating service work, diagnosing technical issues, and maintaining inventory levels to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty equipment and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries regarding parts, service, and technical support.
  • Assist walk-in retail customers with parts sales, ensuring they receive the correct parts for their equipment needs.
  • Recommend and sell parts for a variety of heavy-duty equipment, including chassis, tow truck bodies, hydraulics, and vehicle lighting systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with repeat customers to build customer loyalty and drive sales.
  • Write up service orders and work orders for repair and maintenance work.
  • Schedule and coordinate service appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Track and manage service completion to ensure all work is done in a timely manner.
  • Review and process service invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Diagnose and provide solutions to technical issues related to equipment, hydraulics, electrical systems, and chassis components.
  • Collaborate with the service team to provide expert troubleshooting and repair recommendations.
  • Work with the team to ensure inventory levels of parts are adequate for customer demand.
  • Assist in ordering parts and supplies as necessary.
  • Maintain a well-organized parts department for quick and efficient parts retrieval.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in parts sales and service management, preferably in the heavy-duty equipment or automotive industry.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, vehicle lighting, and all types of chassis, including knowledge of tow truck body installation and repair.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems used in heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for inventory management, invoicing, and scheduling.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., ASE, CDL) or training in heavy-duty equipment maintenance are a plus.
