About the position

The Parts Associate at Quality Forklift Sales and Service, Inc. plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the parts department. This position involves distributing parts for repair jobs, ensuring that both customers and the service department receive the necessary components in a timely manner. The Parts Associate is expected to promote a positive atmosphere of goodwill and accountability between the company and its customers, acting in a professional manner to provide a superior level of customer service and satisfaction. In this role, the Parts Associate will assist shop technicians and mobile technicians in obtaining the parts needed to complete in-house repairs. Effective communication is key, as the associate will need to keep both customers and technicians informed about the status of parts, including updates on lead times. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for prepping and shipping outgoing orders as required, aiding in inventory management, and working with parts manufacturers and aftermarket vendors to efficiently source parts. The position also involves processing vendor returns for discrepancies and overages, including managing stock rotation on returns. The Parts Associate must be able to perform their duties both as part of a team and independently, and will be expected to cooperate with additional tasks assigned by parts management. The work environment is primarily office-based, with some exposure to a maintenance environment, and the demands of the position may exceed normal working conditions.
